Unbiased Namecheap Hosting Review

Namecheap Hosting Review

Namecheap.com

Namecheap launched in the year 2000 with a guy named Richard Kirkendall (it celebrated its 15th birthday last year), with their shared hosting service following seven years later in 2007. Namecheap is a voice in the campaign for internet liberty, and a staunch supporter of the EFF, and anti-SOPA moves. You can see a terrific insight into the mind of CEO, Richard Kirkendall.

Namecheap has its headquarters in Los Angeles, United States. Richard Kirkendall remains as its CEO, even after 15 years since its launch. The hosting department was set up by its vice president, Matthew Russell, in 2007. While the hosting branch is smaller than their domain name counterpart, the company is vast, with currently.

A Closer Look in the Resource Limits at Namecheap

With Namecheap, it’s hard to see exactly what resources you have at your disposal, as on first look they seem to be generous, but their knowledge base and Acceptable Use Policy suggests a differing narrative.

The Control Panel

When you handle your services, you will find that there is a mixture of different systems used to manage your accounts. This was somewhat made a little complicated once the site redesign happened, and you have the domain management still being in their previous design, a slightly more recently altered Hosting dashboard (which appears to incorporate Invoices and billing) and their Support department using the exceptional Kayako support system. It does feel a small muddily, but it does seem they are in the process of upgrading it all so we won’t dwell too much on it. These things do take time to roll out.
